Tiii Environments specializes in the design and construction of public artwork, water features, and the enhancement of the outdoor environment through art, design, custom fabrications and construction. We have experience with every stage of the process, from design development, project management, fabrication, installation, and site construction, to rehabilitation and maintenance.

Tom Fansler III
Founding Principal, CEO
Tom Fansler has spent decades making innovations in the design, fabrication, construction, and maintenance of outdoor environments throughout the country. He has served as president of Smock Fansler Construction Company since 1999 in addition to his role as founding principal and CEO of Tiii Environments. His extensive background in construction and fabrication has provided him with the important tools necessary to create iconic and lasting public art installations, water features, and outdoor built environments that stand the test of time. Approaching his work through the lens of an artist, Tom has has built a reputation for his high quality craftsmanship and creative approach to solving complex construction challenges.
Tom is an active member of several organizations, including the Design Build Institute of America, the US Green Building Council, American Society of Landscape Architects, and the American Institute of Architects, to name a few. He has received multiple awards over the years for his role in creating enduring and sustainable environments throughout the country.
Rachel Johnson Kavathe
Rachel Johnson Kavathe joined forces with Tom Fansler in 2016. Prior to her work at Tiii Environments, Rachel worked as an independent artist, and as a city planner and landscape architect in both the public and private sectors. Rachel received her bachelors in fine arts from Indiana University, a masters in city planning from University of North Carolina, and a masters in landscape architecture from the University of Georgia. She has spent over a decade working closely with communities to create environmental design projects that respond to the unique vision that the client has for the space, and to the unique environmental constraints in which the project is located. In addition to her ongoing practice as an artist, Rachel is certified city planner and licensed landscape architect.
Rachel is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects, American Institute of Certified Planners, and a licensed landscape architect in the state of Indiana.
